How this dataset is built
- What counts as a row
- Shares of a stated population that use a voice technology, from surveys that publish their sample and method (national statistics offices, Pew Research Center, regulators such as Ofcom, academic surveys, and industry surveys with a published method).
- What does not
- Forecasts, market-size estimates, and figures repeated by marketing sites without the original survey.
- How rows are found and checked
- Rows come from the facts already cited across the library and from the original survey reports, found by web and scholarly search. Each figure is stored as a fact with the exact words of its source, checked automatically against the live page.
- What the data cannot tell you
- Surveys word their questions differently (ever used, used last month, use daily), so compare rows from the same survey over time.
