Where can you still buy Dragon NaturallySpeaking?

The desktop product is listed by resellers such as CDW, and Nuance's Windows page offers a Contact us link instead of a price. The version to look for is Dragon Professional 16 for Windows. CDW listed a one-user license at $685.99 ¹ when we checked on October 16, 2026. The consumer Home edition is not sold ², and it is not in the vendor's store menu ³.

Dragon NaturallySpeaking is made by Nuance. This page covers where to buy it. For the version history and editions, see our guide to Dragon versions, editions and price.

Buy from a reseller, or ask Nuance for a quote

Nuance's US store menu lists Dragon Legal, Dragon Law Enforcement, and the cloud Professional Anywhere and Legal Anywhere products. It does not list Home or Premium ³, and it does not show the desktop Professional 16 license either. A menu is a snapshot, so check the store before you rely on it. The Dragon Professional page for Windows does not show a price in its text. It offers a Contact us link instead ⁴. That page can load prices with a script, which a plain text check would not show, so the store or a sales contact is the reliable way to get a current figure.

CDW is one reseller that listed Dragon Professional (v. 16) as a one-user license ¹. That listing does not say whether it is the Individual or the Group edition. Check the edition name on the order page before you pay.

The price is a reseller's price on one day. Prices vary by seller and by language, so compare two sellers before you buy.

What we could and could not confirm

We tried to check the major retail sites. The results were thin:

We did not find a Best Buy or Officeworks listing for Dragon Professional 16. We could not open an Amazon listing either, so we cannot confirm that Amazon sells it. If you want one of these stores, search its site for "Dragon Professional" and check the version number on the listing. We did not check German-language sellers, so we cannot say where to buy the product in Germany.

The mobile app and the cloud service need separate checks

Dragon Anywhere is Nuance's iOS and Android app. A competing dictation vendor says it stopped selling on July 1, 2026 ⁵. The same vendor says Dragon Professional Anywhere, the Windows cloud service, has its own end of sale, which we could not confirm on a Nuance page. The competitor's account is not an official notice, and the store menu is only a snapshot. Ask Nuance directly before you buy a cloud subscription.

What to do before you pay

1. Check the product name and version. Look for Dragon Professional and version 16. A Home listing is for a discontinued product.
2. Check the license count. The version 16 listing at CDW reads "license - 1 user." A listing for more users is a different purchase.
3. Confirm the operating system. Version 16 supports Windows 11 (64-bit) and Windows 10 (32-bit and 64-bit) ⁶. Check the system requirements before you buy.
4. Ask whether the price is a perpetual license. A perpetual license is a one-time purchase you keep. A 2023 review describes Dragon Professional 16 as a one-time fee per license ⁷, but that is a review's figure, so confirm the terms with the seller. A subscription charges you on a schedule for as long as you keep it. Read whether Dragon has a subscription for the cloud side.
5. If you already own an older version, check whether it qualifies for an upgrade before you buy a full license. See the upgrade path.

If you are not sure you need the paid product, compare the free options first. The free dictation software guide explains what those tools do. For the full set of choices, see dictation software by need, or return to our overview of dictation software.
