Question · Dictation software
Does Aqua Voice work on Windows and iPhone?
Yes: Aqua Voice runs on Windows 10 and 11, on iPhone with iOS 17 or later, on Android 10 or later, and on Mac. There is no Linux app, and the phone apps lack the desktop-only features and need an internet connection.

Yes, on both, and on Android and Mac too. Aqua Voice runs on Windows 10 and 11 1, on iPhone with iOS 17 or later 2 and on Android 10 or later 3. One subscription covers all of them 4. There is no Linux app: the platforms Aqua lists are Mac, Windows, iOS and Android 5. We read these pages on October 27, 2026.
This answer is part of our guide to Aqua Voice.
Each platform works differently
| Platform | Requirement | How you use it |
|---|---|---|
| Windows | Windows 10 or 11 1 | Hold a key, talk, release; types in any Windows app 6 |
| Mac | Apple Silicon or Intel 7 | Same pattern; needs microphone and accessibility permissions 8 |
| iPhone | iOS 17 or later, internet 2 | A third-party keyboard you switch to with the globe key |
| Android | Android 10 or later, not Android Go 3 | A floating button beside your usual keyboard |
| Linux | Not supported 5 | None |
The desktop apps use push-to-talk: hold the activation key, speak, and release. The Android app is new: its changelog dates version 0.1.0 to October 6, 2026 9, so expect it to change quickly.
The phone apps do less than the desktop apps
Deep Context, which reads the screen to spell names and code, is desktop only 10. Realtime Mode and the "send it" command are desktop only too; on phones, text is inserted when you finish 11. On iPhone, the keyboard needs Allow Full Access, and secure fields such as password boxes fall back to the system keyboard. All of it needs a connection: the iPhone page lists an internet connection as a requirement 2, and the Android app transcribes on Aqua's servers 3. The iPhone release notes for version 1.0.37 mention an offline model download 12, but treat offline use as unconfirmed.
It depends on your setup
- Windows on ARM, Linux, ChromeOS: we found no support statement for Windows on ARM, and none for Linux or Chromebooks. Test the free allowance, or choose an app whose documentation covers your system.
- iPad: Aqua lists iPhone, not iPad; check the App Store listing before you plan on it.
- No internet: the desktop app has no offline mode 13. Superwhisper's free plan runs local models 14, and on Windows it runs on x64 and ARM64 15.
- Languages: Aqua lists 49 16.
What to do
- Install it on the device you use most, and spend the free 1,000 words there (see Is Aqua Voice free?).
- On iPhone, enable the keyboard in Settings and allow Full Access only if you accept that audio goes to Aqua's servers (see Is Aqua Voice safe?).
- Compare other options: Wispr Flow covers Mac, Windows, iOS and Android 17 but not Linux or iPad 18; see Aqua Voice vs Wispr Flow.
