- What it is
- Decision no. 235 of 1 August 2012 by Italy's data protection authority (Garante) on Cooperativa Capodarco, a Rome cooperative whose call center booked health appointments for the Lazio region. The Garante found that the cooperative recorded every call between its operators and callers and re-listened to samples for quality control, and it declared the processing unlawful.
- How much weight it carries
- The authority's own decision page, in Italian, with the full text of the decision. It is a 2012 order with a ban and a retention limit, not a fine, and the page gives no amount. The decision was taken under the 2003 Privacy Code, which has since been replaced by the GDPR, so the legal basis cited is historical.
