Open the original- What it measures
- Microsoft's admin article on the Teams recording and transcript expiration policy. The setting applies to meetings and events, and the admin can change the number of days. Microsoft says that a change applies only to newly created recordings and transcripts. Once a recording or transcript reaches its expiration date, OneDrive and SharePoint move it to the recycle bin.
- What it does not show
- This is the default for a tenant that has not changed the setting. Admins can set any whole number of days from 1 to 99999, or -1 for no expiry. A1 users are capped at 30 days. The transcript also stays until the organizer deletes it. Items in the recycle bin are removed later, and the article gives no fixed day count for that step.
