Open the original- What it measures
- The Census Bureau's 2010 survey asked people about physical tasks such as lifting a 10-pound object like a bag of groceries, or grasping objects like a glass or pencil. Difficulty with these tasks is one reason someone may find keyboards and handwriting hard.
- What it does not show
- Self-reported in a survey, for 2010 only. The figure combines difficulty with lifting and difficulty with grasping, and it is not limited to typing, so it describes who may find typing or writing harder, not who would use dictation.
