OpenWispr privacy policy
OpenWispr, 2026
Read the originalRead on October 25, 2026
- What it is
- The privacy policy for the OpenWispr Android and macOS apps, last updated July 12, 2026. It says recordings stay on the device by default, that the maker runs no servers that receive user data, and that users can opt in to a third-party cloud provider.
- How much weight it carries
- The maker's own policy. It covers the apps, not the openwispr.dev website, which the policy says uses its own self-hosted analytics. It does not use the word 'train', so the training row rests on the statement that recordings are not sent to the maker.
