Where this number was read
This number was read by our collector, word for word, from an official public source, and the reading is kept with every earlier one. Open the exact request below to see the figure as it stands today.
- Field
- downloads
- Read
- October 19, 2026, and again every week
- What it measures
- A download is one install of the package, by a developer's machine or, far more often, by an automated build. The count is a measure of how much software is built on a provider, not of people.
- How it is measured
- Once a week we read the last month's downloads of every Python package (from pypistats.org, which counts PyPI's public download logs without mirrors) and npm package (from npm's public downloads API) that our market registry lists for a speech-to-text API or open model.
- What it does not show
- Continuous-integration systems that install packages on every build dominate the counts, and one large customer can move them. Installs from private mirrors and caches are not counted.
