- Field
- column "Chrome OS", row 2026-09
- Read
- October 19, 2026, and again every month
- What it measures
- The share of page views from desktop and laptop computers by operating system: the number of computers a desktop app for Windows or Mac can reach, in proportion.
- How it is measured
- Once a month we download StatCounter Global Stats' public CSV of desktop operating system share by month since January 2019 for nine regions and keep every month. StatCounter lists Macs under two names, OS X and macOS, which we add together. StatCounter measures the operating system of page views on the more than 1.5 million websites that use its tracking code.
- What it does not show
- Page views, not devices or people: heavy users count more, and the sites in StatCounter's network are not a random sample of the web, so single months can swing by several points. Data is published under CC BY-SA 3.0 by StatCounter.
