What it measures: A chart position is Apple's own ranking of apps in a category on that day, driven mostly by recent downloads (free and paid) or revenue (grossing).
How it is measured: Once a week we read Apple's public top-200 chart feeds (top free, top paid and top grossing) for the Productivity and Utilities categories, for iPhone and Mac, in eight countries, and record the position of every app in our market registry that appears.
What it does not show: Charts move daily and a weekly reading catches one day. An app outside the top 200 has no row, which does not mean it has no users.
