In the source's own words
“Halo has no account and keeps what you do on your Mac. This page lists everything that does leave it, from the app and from this website, and who receives it.”
Privacy Policy, Halo, Halo, made by Otabek Abdiraimov, 2026, Opening paragraph.
Open the original- What it measures
- The policy lists the connections the app makes: update checks, lyrics lookups, license activation, anonymous usage counts, and Groq dictation only with the user's own key. None of them sends audio to Halo.
- What it does not show
- The policy does not mention audio at all. The row rests on its list of what leaves the app, which names no audio sent to Halo. Dictated speech leaves the Mac only to Apple or, with the user's own key, to Groq.
