- What it is
- A community answer, posted on 15 September 2021, to a user whose Dictate button had disappeared in Word for Microsoft 365. The answer suggests dictating in the free online version of Word and then downloading the file from OneDrive.
- How much weight it carries
- A volunteer's reply on a community forum, not a Microsoft support article, and it describes 2021 conditions. Microsoft's current Dictate article says the feature is only available to Microsoft 365 subscribers, so this reply does not settle what the free web app shows today.
