In the browser speech recognition interface, the continuous setting defaults to false, which means each recognition returns a single result rather than continuous results.

In the source's own words
“It defaults to single results ... true means continuous, and false means not continuous (single result each time.)”

Open the original- What it measures
- This is the browser's developer interface for speech recognition. Dictation tools built on it choose their own setting, so a tool may set continuous to true.
- What it does not show
- The reference does not say which dictation products use this interface or how they set it. The effect of a single-result session on a voice tool is an inference, not something this page states.
