On iPhone, when Voice Control is on, Voice Control is the tool you use to dictate text, and standard iOS Dictation is not available.

- Apple's iPhone User Guide page on Voice Control, which is separate from the Dictation key that appears on the keyboard. Apple's note applies to the iOS version the page covers, and the page was read on 2026-10-17.
- What it does not show
- Apple's note says the two are not both available, but Apple's pages do not describe what a user sees when both settings are on at the same time. Some user reports describe duplicated text in that state, and I could not confirm them against Apple's documentation.
