Read the originalRead on October 17, 2026
- What it is
- Canonical's roadmap for Ubuntu 26.04 LTS, which lists the desktop changes planned for the release, including the Wayland session and speech work for screen readers.
- How much weight it carries
- Official, but a roadmap written before release, so it describes plans and intent rather than what every installed system does. We use it for direction, and the Handy guide for tested behavior.
