- What it is
- The symbols test page of a free online typing tester. Its FAQ explains which keys the test uses and how it scores symbols.
- How much weight it carries
- A vendor page, so it is a source only for how this one test scores. It gives no measured data on how symbols change typists' speed.
Facts taken from this source
- TypeQuicker's symbols test uses the same WPM calculation as its standard tests, and every special character counts toward the overall character count.
“follows the same WPM (words per minute) calculation as standard tests ... Each special character counts toward your overall character count” (FAQ: How is scoring calculated when typing with symbols?)
