Compliance (Superwhisper documentation)
Superwhisper, n.d.
Read the originalRead on October 17, 2026
- What it is
- Superwhisper's HIPAA page. It sets out three setups (local-only, cloud models and bring-your-own-key) and says which of them need a business associate agreement with Superwhisper.
- How much weight it carries
- The vendor's own documentation, so it describes what the company intends to offer. It is not an audit. We did not test the local-only claim, and a third-party comparison disagrees with the vendor about whether a BAA is available, so get written confirmation before you rely on it.
Facts taken from this source
- Superwhisper says that for its cloud models, the customer must sign Superwhisper's own business associate agreement.
“Superwhisper cloud models: Sign Superwhisper’s BAA.” (HIPAA, Superwhisper cloud models)
- Superwhisper says that in its local-only setup no audio or transcripts leave the device, and that no BAA with Superwhisper is required for those models.
“No audio or transcripts leave the device. No BAA required with Superwhisper for those models.” (HIPAA, Local-only setup)
