- What it is
- Microsoft's help page on clicking things on screen with Voice Access, by name or by number overlay. It covers partial name matches, names with numbers or symbols, how multiple matches are numbered, and when number overlays work best.
- How much weight it carries
- Official Microsoft documentation for Windows 11. It is written as instructions and does not measure how often a name is matched correctly, so the success rate of any command is unknown.
Facts taken from this source
- Number overlays work best on the primary monitor, and using them on a secondary monitor gives an error message.
“Number overlays work best on the primary monitor. If you try to use overlays on your secondary monitor or on an app in the secondary monitor, you will see an error message.” (Interact with UI items using number overlays)
