Text-to-speech output (Android Accessibility Help)
Google, Google Accessibility Help, n.d.

- What it is
- Google's Android Accessibility Help page for choosing the text-to-speech engine, language, speech rate and pitch under Settings, Accessibility, Text-to-speech output. It says the available engines vary by device.
- How much weight it carries
- Official Google help. It covers text-to-speech output (reading text aloud), not speech-to-text. It does not say whether the speech engine can be disabled or removed. Menu names differ by Android version and phone maker. The live page was blocked to our fetch, so we read the copy in the Wayback Machine.
