What it measures
The finalists raced in real time in an online typing application at the 2010 SXSW Interactive Festival. The first round used a standard 574-word text, and the second used a harder text with most of the QWERTY keys.
What it does not show
A single race in a live contest, on one text, and the article calls it unofficial. It is not a certified Guinness record and says nothing about sustained speed over an hour.
