Open the original- What it measures
- Twenty-one touch typists and 20 non-touch typists in a laboratory, all female, performed a continuous typing task for 240 minutes. Discomfort was rated on a visual analogue scale (VAS) at the studied body areas.
- What it does not show
- Self-rated discomfort in one session, in a small observational comparison. Groups were formed by existing skill, not at random, so this does not show that touch typing prevents injury.
