Fact · Typing and writing speed

Monkeytype's missed-word practice sorts the words you missed by how often you missed them, and keeps only the top of that list.

In the source's own words

“sortableMissedWords.sort((a, b) => { return b[1] - a[1]; }); sortableMissedWords = sortableMissedWords.slice(0, limit);”

What it measures
The code counts misses for each word from the last test, sorts the list from most to fewest, and cuts it to a set limit before it builds the practice test.
What it does not show
The source shows how the list is built, not whether practising it improves speed. The limit depends on the mode, so check the practice option on the site.
