What it measures
This is the Key Stage 1 section of the programme. The Key Stage 2 section asks pupils to use search technologies effectively and to select, use and combine software, and it names no typing or keyboard skill.
What it does not show
The text names no typing or keyboard skill at Key Stage 1 or 2, so typing is not a required outcome there. Schools may teach it anyway, and academies do not have to follow the national curriculum.
