- How it is calculated
- Dictating is 35 percent of the session, so the session is 3.40 / (1 - 0.65) = 9.71 hours, and 10 - 9.71 = 0.29 hours saved
Calculated from
- In a preliminary 2001 study of dictation with a speech recognizer, users spent over 65 percent of their time correcting errors and less than 35 percent dictating.
- Ten hours of keyboard writing at 52 words per minute would take about 3.4 hours to enter by speech at 153 words per minute, before editing.
