Open the original- What it measures
- ASD is autism spectrum disorder; ADDM is the Autism and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring Network. The estimate is for surveillance year 2022 (children born in 2014), from 16 sites, up from 1 in 36 in 2020. The CDC says ASD is over 3 times more common among boys than among girls.
- What it does not show
- Prevalence ranged widely across sites. Rising figures partly reflect better identification. The figure counts identification in records, not a population screening.
