8kHz sample rate for the narrowband codec
The Bluetooth Headset Profile carries voice either at 8 kHz with the CVSD codec or at 16 kHz with the mSBC wideband codec.

- Audio Precision's summary of the Headset Profile. The page says the profile supports only low-bit-rate voice-quality audio, used for phone-to-headset communication.

- This is the Headset Profile, not the Hands-Free Profile that most earbuds and car kits use. The codec choices are the same family, but check the device's own specification before relying on the exact rate.
