“adds a self-imposed limit on upper bound typing speeds, which decreases the value of highly accurate autocorrect”
The Limits of Expert Text Entry Speed on Mobile Keyboards with Autocorrect, Nikola Banovic et al., MobileHCI 2019, as listed by the authors' lab, 2019, Abstract.
Open the original- What it measures
- The authors modelled expert typists on mobile keyboards with autocorrect, and they compared the model with empirical typing speeds across accuracy levels. The result concerns how typists choose to slow down to avoid errors.
- What it does not show
- A model on phone keyboards with expert typists, not a measurement of people typing on a computer. The lab page summarizes the paper, and we did not check the paper's own tables.
