What it measures
The study defines the measure in a table of its rhythm metrics, next to the standard deviation and pairwise variability measures of speech timing used in the same analysis.
What it does not show
The definition is precise, but published values depend on how syllables are counted and how pauses are marked. Studies that count filled pauses such as 'um' differently report different rates.
