- What it measures
- The number of language and region entries in Apple's general Dictation list. An entry is one language in one region, so one language can appear several times.
- How it is calculated
- We counted the entries in the general Dictation section as it appeared on 2026-10-17: 60 entries with a region in brackets, such as Hindi (India), and 3 single-word entries, Indonesian, Norwegian Bokmål and Shanghainese.
- What it does not show
- Our count from one reading of the page. Apple does not print a total, and the list changes with each iOS release.
Calculated from
- Apple's iOS and iPadOS feature page lists Dictation languages by language and region, so English appears several times, for example for Australia, Canada, India, Indonesia and Ireland.
- Apple's iOS and iPadOS feature availability page lists Hindi (India) in its general Dictation section. The same page lists a separate On-Device and Modeless Dictation section, and Hindi is not in that section.
