How it is calculated: We grouped the 48 entries by language name, counting each language once however many regions it lists. Cantonese and Mandarin Chinese each count once, as Apple lists them. The result is 22 language names.
What it does not show: Our count from one reading of the page. The list may change with each iOS release, and Apple does not say which iOS version each row applies to.
