- This is the Mac Help page for Dictation on macOS Ventura 13, read on 17 October 2026. The current macOS 27 page lists the Escape key, the Microphone key and the Dictation shortcut as the ways to stop, and does not list the Return key.

- This describes Ventura, not macOS 27. It shows that Apple once treated Return as a finish key. It does not show what Return does on macOS 27 or on Intel Macs.
