Open the original (DOI 10.1016/j.pain.2010.11.016)- What it measures
- The trial enrolled 198 people, 174 women and 24 men, working at least 30 hours a week, with frequent neck or shoulder pain. The control group received weekly information on general health. Pain was rated from 0 to 10 at the end of the 10 weeks.
- What it does not show
- The result is for neck and shoulder pain, not for pain in the hand, wrist or thumb, and the trial did not test typing RSI. A change of 1.4 points is a modest difference on a 10-point scale.
