Execution and pauses in writing narratives: processing time, cognitive effort and typing skill, R. A. Alves et al., International Journal of Psychology, 2008, Abstract.
Open the original (DOI 10.1080/00207590701398951)- What it measures
- Writers were undergraduates who wrote a narrative while answering random auditory probes. Cognitive demand was measured by interference in their reaction times while they typed.
- What it does not show
- A small sample of university students in a single session. The study does not test how these demands change after typing training.
